Preparing your files to send to North Star Printing
Instructions for MS Windows users

After you have named the folder that contains your press ready files with a descriptive name continue with these steps.

Example:

An archive file with the same name as your folder and ending in .zip will be created.

This zip file is what you should ftp to North Star Printing.
e.g. Kristy's Candies - Fun Candy Brochure.zip

The ".zip" part of the archive name may not be displayed on your computer depending on your system settings.

Check the total size of your .zip archive.  If the size is 1 gigabyte or more it is recommended that you do not try to send it via ftp or our web site.  The time required to send a file of that size is very long and the likely hood of failure is high.  For very large files please create CDs or a DVD containing the large file and send the CDs or DVD to North Star Printing.

If your zip archive size is under 1 gigabyte you are ready to connect to the ftp server or use our web interface and send us your zip archive.  Please click here for the instruction on Sending your archive to North Star Printing via FTP or using our web interface.
